CNA Americas, Inc is part of CNA Group Ltd and work closely with CNA’s Centre of Excellence in offering Engineering services to North American Market. In order to leverage the abundant manpower skills available in India, CNA set up Center of Excellence center to provide Engineering services to CNA’s global clients. CNA transferred some of their key Engineering personnel who have number of years of experience in executing large system integration projects, from Singapore to Bangalore.


To take advantage of the economic infrastructure and manpower cost in India, we utilize a proven onsite-offshore model for most of the Engineering work.  In order to make this model work efficiently, we have put in streamlined process in place. This way we are able to effectively service, the requirement of our global clients, even at relatively short notice. When required, we are able to draw in from the domain and technical expertise of the CNA Group, to provide service to our Clients.

Implementation Methodology

Each Assignment is unique, with its own variations to the standard requirement.   While the common denominators in all projects are the Cost and Time, there are variations of Size, Technology, Customization requirement, Client involvement etc.  This calls for a slightly different approach to cater to the specific need of the project at hand.

On-shore / Onsite Model:

Some projects are best done at the Customer location itself. Situations where the requirements are still emerging and when a lot of changes are expected, it is more meaningful to follow a incremental process in executing the project. It is expected that documentation will be kept to the minimum and the focus will be on a very tight, day to day project review and management.

CNA can either supplement with adequately skilled workforce, or can take up such projects on a turnkey basis.  It is normally expected that such projects are quite small or are a Proof of concept for a larger Project.

Onsite – Offshore Hybrid Model:

The first step is to identify task that can be done at offshore, without undue risk element being introduced, so as to take advantage of the on-site offshore model of project execution.

Broadly speaking, tasks like Requirement Gathering, Integrated testing and commission have to be done at the Client’s site.  Major part of Analysis, Design, Engineering and documentation can be done at offshore at the CoE.
